This is the Roof top restaurant of Harolds Inn. The urinals are right behind me in the wide open for all to see but luckily no one has used them yet while we eat. |
Here is the view from the Rooftop of Harolds Inn. |
A ship full of balikbayan boxes arrives into Dumaguete!! |
Another shot of the Dumaguete Boardwalk. You don't see many garbage cans here except for the little basket in the middle of this picture which is only for the Boardwalk. |

The sign says "Keep our Banga River clean". Too bad it is full of garbage. |
Downtown Dumaguete. |
This little tower was build in the 1760s for protection of Dumaguete. |
I am planning to stay in Dumaguete until Wednesday morning and then will leave for Bacolod. I am always amazed at some of the travelers I meet and how many different languages they can speak. Right now I am on the rooftop talking with 3 young travelers that have to be in their mid 20s while I download my pictures. One is an Egyptian looking guy who lives in Montreal Canada and is now an eye doctor like his dad and another is from Paris France and another is from Israel who just got out of the mandatory 3 year Israeli army stint. The guy from Israel I was looking before I entered their conversation and was wondering if he was Filipino or an Arab until he told me he is half filipino (his mom) and half Israeli (his dad). His name is Johnny and after his travels will be returning to Israel to do 7 years of medical school. I feel kind of stupid being around people who can speak 3+ languages. The Eye doctor guy speaks Arabic, French, Spanish, and English and his brother speaks all those plus Mandarin. The filipino/Israeli speaks Hebrew, Arabic, and English.
