Here is a restaurant franchise CHOWKING inside the Ayala Mall which I wasn't particularly fond of the other day when I had their chicken. |
A filipinos favourite place which is WESTERN UNION to get money from overseas filipino workers so they can go shopping! |
The movie ticket booth on the top floor of the Ayala Mall. 7 movies playing at this theater. |
This is the movie I watched at 1:30pm yesterday at the theater. The Wachoski's "Jupiter Ascending" |
As I walked around the mall I saw this 30ish attractive filipina with her arm firmly locked around an older 60ish fat white male. It seems so strange to see this and I was smirking and as they passed she kept looking back at me (probably wondering why I was smirking). It is very common here to see old white men with younger filipina wives or girlfriends. I felt like saying "Yeah, you better hold onto that guy because you found yourself a real catch!!".
As I walked through the mall a guy turned around and said "Excuse me brother, you don't know me but I am also a member of AA" and I am thinking what the hell is he talking about. He sees the confused look on my face and says "Your shirt! I read it and just wanted to tell you that I am also a member of Alcoholics Anonymous". OK I have a black T-shirt that always gets a few laughs in Canada that says "ALSO AVAILABLE IN SOBER" but he read it like I was a member of ALCOHOLICS ANONYMOUS and was confiding in me that he was an AA member too. I had to tell him the T-shirt was just a joke and that I am not an alcoholic. It was a bit awkward at that moment so I said "Soooo.... um...errrr...... How long you been sober for?" and he said "1 year now" at which we parted ways. Alcohol is so cheap in the Philippines it is no wonder that so many have an alcohol problem here.
I checked to see what movies were now playing at the Theaters and saw that the Wachowski brothers (I guess I should say Wachoski SIBLINGS as one of the brothers just had a sex change) who were the makers of the Matrix trilogy where their latest movie JUPITER ASCENDING was now playing so I bought a ticket. Before the movie started the screen showed a big Philippine flag where we were instructed to stand up and sing the Philippine national anthem like it was karaoke with the words flashing at the bottom of the screen and people singing along. Also I noticed that filipinos like to talk while the movie is playing.
