February 8th 2015 Cebu City to Dumaguete journey

Once I got to the Cebu city bus station I made a mad dash to the washroom (Known as the CR or Comfort Room in the Philippines) and did my business then dashed out until I hear "Hey Sir!... SIR!!!". I didn't even see the lavatory attendant behind his desk waiting to collect 5 pesos (12 cents) from me. If I didn't hear him and kept on going he would have probably got on his walkie-talkie and said "SECURITY! SECURITY! We have another SHIT & GO customer. The suspect is a white male in his early 40s heading to booth #6 for Dumaguete. He is a bigger man so TASERS might be necessary to subdue him and retrieve the 12 cents that is rightfully owed!!!"
I am sure a good portion of that hefty 12 cents goes to maintenance so I wonder how much this guy makes in a typical day?
I was told the earliest bus to Dumaguete leaves at 5am so I got there at 4am and boarded at 5am but apparently it leaves at 6am as the first bus to Dumaguete.
After 3 hours and 15 minutes we arrive at the ferry. Because it was Sunday there was no traffic in Cebu city so we made good time.
Our ferry and Mr Cataanga was our captain.
Because there is only one entrance/exit for the ferry all the vehicles have to back onto the ferry.
At 3am I left the Cebu Guest house and went to check out. The guy didn't see my name as being paid so I helped him look through all the hotel receipts to find my name. As I went through all the receipts I saw they were all for February and realized this shit hole of a dump I was staying at was very popular and quite a gold mine of a business. I figure they are pulling in $300 a day minus expenses. I guess it has a good location and the cheapest price so attracted a lot of westerners.

Took a taxi and headed to McDonalds for a couple coffees and then grabbed another taxi down to the bus station. One thing I notice driving in taxi's here is that many people don't drive in their own lane but prefer sharing 2 lanes and riding on the dotted lane divider. I remember they drove like that in Cairo too. It might be a 3rd world thing.

The Bus ride from Cebu City to Dumaguete is 205 pesos ($5cdn) and 70 pesos ($1.80 cdn) for the ferry. I met a 62 year old guy named Michel from the Netherlands on the bus. He has been to the Philippines 15 times already and absolutely loves it! He is a building contractor but says the Netherlands economy is horrible and that no one is buying houses and everyone is renting due to the banks not lending as much due to the European economic crisis in other countries so he is just renting out his new houses and has to go back home periodically every year but says he always comes to the Philippines 6 times per year. He is hoping he can sell off all his stuff at some point and move to the Philippines permanently. I don't blame him. I really like the Philippines as well.

We left Cebu city at 6am and got to the ferry at 9:15am and waited a bit before boarding and the ferry left at 9:50am and took 30 minutes to get to the other side and then a short bus ride south to Dumaguete.
