March 6th 2015 Boracay Island Day 3- Trek around the island

This is a map of Boracay Island. I marked in RED where I trekked today starting off walking along white beach until I could go no farther then then walked along a beach access alley to the main road which runs down the middle of the island as I made my way to Puka Shell Beach.
Walking along White Beach until I came to this little mountain where I thought the beach would end.

Come to the little rocky mountain there was a little walk way that takes you around the mountain to more beach.
Before going around the mountain I took one last picture of White beach.

As I walked around the rocky mountain I saw this. Houses going up the mountain side.
Houses the go up the mountain side with nice views.

Do you like my new hat? Getting a hat to protect myself from the sun was on my "To Do list" but a hat vendor came up to me asking me if I wanted to buy a hat and needed something better than sunscreen to protect my face. You can see that my arms are still burned from my scooter ride around Dumaguete.
It was impossible to continue along the beach area but did see this little elevator in use that brought people down to the beach level. I decided to turn around and go back 100 feet to a beach access alleyway to take me to the main road.

Walking through a beach alley way on my way to the main road.
As I walked down the main road I saw more beach alleyways that I would go down just to check out.

I saw this sign along the main road looking for "security guards" and "lady guards". I don't know what the difference is except I see lady guards can be younger. Minimum qualification? 5 foot 4 inches in height. Well that rules out 80% of the filipino population. I can't believe you need 1 year experience for this job as most of them just sit in chair sleeping. An easy job but very boring.
Walking down the main Boracay road on my way to Puka Shell Beach and passing through little towns.

About 1-2 kilometers before reaching Puka Shell Beach I see this old ripped sign. "Welcome, you are about to enter PUKA SHELL BEACH (10th most beautiful beach in Asia. The place that made Boracay first internationally known!". I thought White Beach was the best beach but I was about to find out Puka Shell Beach was much nicer!!
Almost at Puka Shell Beach and I see a fenced off construction site putting in a resort with this sign showing you have to have full PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT on to enter this site. Good to see SAFETY on Philippine construction sites.
So after my camera battery was recharged I decided to begin my trek around the island and you can see my route I outlined in RED where I went today. Started off on White Beach and made my way to a sheer cliff straight up that had houses perched on it at Diniwid Beach and it was not accessible by stairs except an elevator so I retraced my route 100 feet back to a beach access alley and walked along it to the main road which runs down the middle of the whole island.

Once you get off the White Beach area you see the filipino areas and I continued walking and would go down little alleyways that came off the main road down to the beaches just to check them out as I have a whole 11 days to explore every area of the island of Boracay. Judging my what I saw today it will probably be another few days before I see ALL OF IT! Kids often see you off the beaten path and say "Hello!" & "Where you from?" while waving at you. As I continued down the main road towards Puka Shell Beach it was less touristy but some big hotels and resorts at this end of the island.
