March 5th 2015 Boracay Island- Day 2

This is the White Beach area of Boracay. I couldn't get the whole map in with my camera but to see where I am staying (Trafalgar Cottages) in the area look down at CHATIME and follow the thin red line right and then up. White beach is where most of the hotels, restaurants, and businesses are located as this is where all the tourists are.
Here is Boracay Island and I highlighted in red where the first map up above covers (White Beach). I still have 11 days here so have a lot of time to explore this little island.

Here is the Philippine money. 1000 Peso note, 500 peso note, I didn't have a 200 peso note on me, then 100 peso note, 50 peso note, 20 peso and then the coins from left to right 10 pesos, 5 pesos, 1 peso, .1 of a peso (haven't used one of those yet).
Here is a supermarket on the main road but I didn't see much of a selection to eat. They had liquor, furniture and other things for sale in here. I bought my Boracay Run in here (See below).
I wasn't even looking for booze in the Supermarket but these bottles caught my eye as they look like the Malibu bottles back home. I decided to buy one but when the cashier told me they were only 109 pesos ($3 cdn) each I decided to buy two. 25% alcohol and Cappuccino flavour. Ingredients: White Rum, Water, Sugar, and flavouring.

Although I have already extended my Philippine visa I always like to find the local Bureau of Immigration. The maps show it down the main road but when I got there I saw a note saying that they moved to across from the E-Mall which is basically where the Trafalgar Cottages are located so I walked back and this is it. They are still doing construction and still haven't updated their website with their new Boracay location yet.

"Johns Bamboo removal. No job too big". When I got out of the supermarket I saw a bit of a traffic jam on the main road and saw this guy on his tricycle hauling these long bamboo poles. I don't know how he would turn corners.

At around noon I headed to the beach to go for a swim. As I headed down to walk into the water I was shocked that it has 6 to 8 feet of green slimy algae all along the shoreline. So you have to pass the algae to get into the turquoise water which was nice and refreshing and probably stayed in there for a couple hours before heading back to shower up and then headed down the main road which you can see on the first map that runs down the middle of the island.

I checked out a supermarket that didn't have much food to eat in it but just a few canned goods and lots of junk. I bought 2 bottles of Boracay Rum for $3 cdn each. I have just under 2 weeks on Boracay so it will be for entertainment purposes to kill a few hours here and there.

As I was walking down the main road I saw a truck drive by advertising the Manny Pacquiao VS Floyd Mayweather fight. I couldn't believe they finally signed a deal as this fight seemed to never happen. Even though I would like to see Manny win I don't think he can beat the undefeated Mayweather. The fight is on May 2nd.
