Heading to the middle of the island where Chocolate Hills is located. These are Mahogany trees. |
|
It is Good Friday tonight and most of the gas stations were closed so these police officers in Batuan helped me out and drove around to find someone selling gas in 1 liter pop bottles. That is the police chief in the middle. |

Just a few kilometers past Batuan is the entrance to Chocolate hills. |
I rented a scooter for 500 pesos for the day and headed out to find Chocolate hills which is a natural formation. Today is Good Friday and I didn't know that most of the gas stations as well as other businesses would be closed today.
As I headed inland and came to the town of Batuan I noticed my gas is getting low where I really want to find a gas station before proceeding anymore into the countryside and find that all the gas stations are closed due to the holiday Good Friday. I see 5 police officers sitting around in a park and I ask them where I can get gasoline and they were extremely helpful where the police chief says "Just stay right here. We will go out and find you gasoline". I waited 20 minutes and they came back with 2 liters of gasoline.
I then continued on my way another few kilometers out of Batuan and came to the entrance of Chocolate Hills.
